Biographical Info

Kara is a self-motivated, positive person. She is also a serious business-minded professional, who like a lot of women out there, wears many hats. She is an adviser, educator, strategist, mentor, entrepreneur, mother, wife, sister and friend. Her east-coast roots serve her well in all aspects of her career. Her solid work ethic and straight-forward, no-nonsense approach to business and life are a big part of her success.

After almost a decade in the corporate world, she ventured into residential real estate in San Diego. She earned “rookie-of-the-year” her first year in business with the largest firm in San Diego which also happened to be the highest producing office in the nation. She was then ranked in the top 6% nationwide and subsequently the top 4% for years after until venturing out to a mid-size firm where she wrote and implemented their flagship mentoring program. Finally going out on her own in 2006, Kara started a small independent brokerage that her husband currently operates while Kara is fulfilling her entrepreneurial spirit in other ways.

Kara, alongside two friends, in 2009, founded MomsMakingSixFigures, a marketing brand comprised of a group of successful women; both business owners and corporate professionals, who came together to create a community that would help others enhance their lives and operate with time-freedom. That is accomplished through a model by parent company, consumer goods manufacturer, Melaleuca.com. Kara was earning 6 figures by the end of her 2nd year with Melaleuca.com and is now ranked in the top 1% with the company. MomsMakingSIxFigures still operates to this day with Kara’s two business partners and is thriving. Kara currently runs her Melaleuca business independently under her most recent project, personal brand and corporation, Connect For Success.

Connect For Success was founded in 2014 with a mission to serve and support (mostly) female entrepreneurs and business owners providing support, education and connection in a nurturing environment. Connect For Success also happens to be award-winning community; awarded by NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) “Woman Advocate of the Year” in 2017. Connect For Success has a charitable component as well and supports three local charitable organizations.

Kara’s mission is to help support and empower women and to help them realize their excellence. Whether that is through toxic-free living and a healthy lifestyle, providing community in support of female entrepreneurs, strategizing to help an entrepreneur lay a firm foundation for a new business or helping another woman jumpstart her dreams. “Who you are is more important than what you do”
